Sach di Sotto
The archaeological site of Sach di Sott is located just south of the town of Meduno, on a river terrace at an altitude between 292 and 297 m asl, at the confluence of the Meduna and Rugo streams. This settlement was mainly inhabited between the 4th and 3rd millennium B.C. during the Eneolithic and Bronze Age. It was discovered in 1997 thanks to Franco Del Bianco, who collected some chipped stone artefacts and numerous pottery fragments on the surface of the ploughed fields, which were preliminarily attributed to the early Metal Ages. Among the artefacts found during later archaeological investigations were lithic artefacts, pottery with engraved decorations, structures such as pits and shafts, and a defensive earthwork approximately 115 metres long.

How to get there
From the Church Square, continue in the direction of Tramonti, then turn left into Via Marinotti. Before the hydroelectric power station, on the left, you can see the embankment beyond which stood the late Eneolithic fortified site of “Sach di Sott”.
