Itinerary
From the Square in Meduno, descend along the road to Tramonti for about 300 m. When the road begins to climb, turn right and, after about 100 m of tarmac road, go up the Luigi Del Bianco path. Following it you will reach Borgo Valle (439 m asl). When you reach the tarmac road, follow it uphill and at the hairpin bend, turn left towards the hamlet Borgo Del Bianco (500 m asl). Once you reach the foot of the hamlet, continue and follow the signs to the Belvedere degli Alpini (Mountain Soldier viewpoint), which offers a magnificent view of the outlet of the Meduna stream into the plain. Follow the path Troi Dai Ciucui Dai Plans towards Forchia di Meduno (634 m asl). In the square in front of the little Alpine church, one finds oneself facing a wooden cross made by the Medunese artist Tita Danella. Behind it begins the 8th path of the Alpine Regiment, which leads through the Val di Zolf Valley straight to the summit of Mount Valinis. Follow it to an altitude of 700 m asl and at the fork, descend to the right to Borgo Cilia (555 m asl) near a fountain. Continue to the right up the municipal tarmac road and turn left at the crossroads. On reaching Casera Manaraç in Val di Giumint Valley (531 m asl), take the mule track downhill that enters the woods, crossing the area of Fontanis. After the capital, turn right at the fork. Still descending, wade through the stream Rio Maggiore and climb up close to the small church of San Martino near the hamlet of the same name (380 m asl). From here it is only a few minutes’ descent back to the starting point.
